USE OF NEUTRALIZATION SLUDGE FROM SPENT ACIDIC TITANIUM PICKLING SOLUTIONS AS A COMPONENT OF CONSTRUCTION MIXTURE

Annotation. The paper considers the directions of utilization of titanium-containing waste. The results of investigation of titanium-containing waste at VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation for determining the direction of recycling are presented. Chemical, mineral, and granulometric compositions of the wastes under study have been analyzed, and their moisture content has been studied. Based on the results obtained 6 mortar compositions for paving tile production with various amounts of added waste (from 5 to 50%) have been developed and researched. After curing in the obtained samples, the strength characteristics were determined. The results showed that as the percentage of waste increased, the strength first increased and then decreased rapidly. The best results were obtained for mortars containing 5 and 10% waste, with compressive strength of 26.09 and 28.89 MPa for the corresponding samples, respectively.

Key words: titanium-containing waste, titanium slurry, mortars, compressive strength.
