DEVELOPMENT OF THE SYSTEM OF PROFESSIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL VOLUNTEERING IN THE HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTION

 

Annotation. The experience of an integrated approach to the formation of a system of professional environmental volunteering at Udmurt State University is shown, including such stages for volunteers as their training, practice-oriented formats for developing practical experience, methodological support for outreach work, and the creation of an educational platform for systematic work. in the field of separate waste collection and responsible consumption at the university. A training program for volunteers for environmental education, a project for the environmental education space «Green Campus» as a practical platform for the regular work of volunteers have been developed. 10 experimental sites for separate waste collection have been created, where studies of the morphology of waste - secondary raw materials and surveys of students and university staff on inclusion in the system of selective waste collection are carried out, which make it possible to identify motivating factors for responsible waste management. A Green Campus methodological manual for volunteers has been published, containing scenarios for eco-lessons, recommendations for volunteers, reference data on environmental education organizations in the region and waste recyclers. The emerging system of professional environmental educational volunteering is aimed at developing responsible waste management among young people by improving the quality of education using various interactive work formats. An important condition for the system being created is interaction with representatives of the waste management industry.
