RESEARCH OF THERMAL PROPERTIES OF ROCKS BY USING SERIAL RELEASED INSTRUMENTS: LFA 467 TEMPERATURE METER AND DSC 204 HP DIFFERENTIAL CALORIMETER

Annotation. Reliable data on the thermal properties (heat, thermal diffusivity and heat capacity) of rocks are required to solve a number of theoretical and practically important technosphere problems, including those related to geothermal studies (for example, reliable estimation of heat flux), interpretation of the results of thermometry in wells, application thermal methods for producing highly viscous oils, etc. Solving these problems requires the development of the experimental base of thermal petrophysics (rock thermal physics), which is a one-time scientific problem. Despite the methodological and design developments available to date (S.A. Nikolayev, S.N. Emirov, Yu.A. Popov, etc.), the search for the most acceptable methods for studying the thermal characteristics of such complex objects as rocks continues. In this work, we studied the thermal characteristics of rocks using commercially available instruments: a differential scanning calorimeter DSC 204 HP and a complex LFA 467, designed to measure thermal diffusivity. The advantage of these instruments, in particular, is the rapidity of measurements, as well as the possibility of determining the temperature dependence of the specific heat and thermal diffusivity of unconsolidated samples of reservoir rocks when modeling rock pressure corresponding to the conditions of their occurrence in the reservoir.
Key words: petrophysics, thermal physics, thermal conductivity, thermal diffusivity, heat capacity, temperature, rocks, thermal methods of oil production.
