EXPERIENCE OF USING OF HYDRAULIC CALIBRATOR OF VARIABLE DIAMETER IN CONSTRUCTION OF WELLS WITH GEOLOGICAL COMPLICATIONS

 

Annotation. It is reasonable to use bottomhole assembly with two support-centring elements if the normal to the layered plane deviates from the borehole axis, if rock strata hardness is anisotropic and unevenly alternates, if borehole straightness is secured. When using the bottomhole assembly, a hydraulic variable diameter calibrator is mounted above the bit (as an above-bit calibrator), above the downhole motor or on the weighted drill pipe (as a centralizer). The use of bottomhole assembly with two support-centring elements provides efficiency of trajectory control due to the adjustable diameter change while drilling, constant maintenance of the zenith angle, reduction of time and number of tripping operations.
