ON PECULIARITIES OF PRODUCTION AND CONSUMPTION WASTE MANAGEMENT AS PART OF the SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY
Annotation. The sustainable development of society requires the solution of two interrelated problems: the protection of nature (human habitat) and the involvement of production and consumption waste, representing the so-called "secondary" natural resources, into the economic turnover. The use of these resources becomes especially urgent as humanity is moving towards an increasing shortage of non-renewable primary resources. When talking about the specifics of waste management, three crucial aspects need to be addressed. The first relates to future consumption waste, or present-day products of human labour. The second is the need to significantly reduce and recycle "current" wastes. And, finally, the third is the creation and improvement of the system of upbringing and education of those who are in one way or another connected with material production and consumption, and in fact the whole population. In this connection the problems of formation of the country's own waste management strategy are considered.
Keywords: sustainable development, production and consumption waste, recycling, engineering education, circular economy, additive technologies, nature-like materials.
