SOME ASPECTS OF DESIGNING PHYTOTREATMENT FACILITIES

Annotation. A powerful technogenic negative impact is made on the surface water objects of the environment by polluting them with industrial, domestic and storm water runoff. Various systems of wastewater treatment have been developed and applied, lately nature-like technologies, to which wastewater phytotreatment can be referred. Phytotreatment plants are facilities that in addition to engineering methods use biomethods, where water treatment occurs, including the action of a specific composition of microorganisms that develop in the aquatic environment in the root zone of plants and other substrates that are part of the treatment system. Currently, there is no unified guiding document for the design of phytotreatment plants in Russia, and some characteristics of such facilities are established in the course of R&D. The purpose of this paper is to summarize approaches to the design of phytotreatment plants. To achieve this purpose, foreign and domestic design experience, requirements of normative legal acts for designing constructions have been analyzed and principles of designing have been generalized.

Keywords: wastewater treatment, phytotreatment plants, requirements for the design of wastewater treatment facilities, normative legal acts.
