RECYCLING OF SOLID WASTE OF METALLURGICAL PRODUCTION
Annotation. This article discusses the problems of disposal and processing of solid waste from metallurgical production, specifically slags. It has been revealed at which processing stages of metallurgical production the largest amount of solid waste is generated, and the approximate composition of waste has also been determined. Currently, about 90 % of the slag produced in Russia is disposed in an open way. Metallurgical slags disposed in this way accumulate in the soil and wastewater, are carried by the wind, alienate the land. Therefore, ash dumps have a significant negative impact on the biosphere. To solve the problem, it is proposed to process metallurgical slags into building material. Depending on the type of slag being processed, several technologies have been proposed. It has been determined that the products produced from recycled waste are not inferior in their characteristics to alternative products.
