ON DEFINITION OF THE CONCEPT "TECHNOSPHERE"

Annotation. The appearance of man on the Earth has radically changed its nature. At the same time people gradually passed from simple biological adaptation to purposeful transformation of the environment. Since the twentieth century, the area of technical impact of mankind on nature began to capture the entire globe (sphere), turning into a system in which individual centers of artificial habitat were connected. To designate this system, the term "technosphere" appeared in the works of foreign researchers of technology (40-50s of the twentieth century). This concept was used to analyze the internal problems of technical development and related social processes. In the Soviet historiography (R.K. Balandin) a broader understanding of technosphere was given, associated with geo-ecological problems. Meanwhile, at present there is still no unified interdisciplinary definition of "technosphere". The author, on the basis of fundamental concepts, proposes to define "technosphere as an area of human technical activity and its results" ("techno" - art, skill, science and sphere - area).

Keywords: man, biosphere, technosphere, nature, artificial habitat, technical activity, geoecology..
